Known predators of  M. longicarpus include;

Birds: straw necked Ibis, eastern curlews, mangrove kingfisher, white crane

Crustaceans: ghost crab, grapsid crab, fiddler crab

Fish: toad fish

Molloucs: moonsnails, sand snail (predates only on juveniles)
